The Perfect Present

The Perfect Present
A necklace?
Or a story?
Maybe something gory?
What can it possibly be?
The perfect gift for thee
Many days spent searching
With the deadline closing
My heart and stomach lurching.
I can't paint, dance, or sing.
So I write all I can.
Hopefully it's a great plan.
Because all I have is this.
